ACESystems contracted
with one of the large, national aerospace companies for the
complete research, development and manufacture of a space-based
thermal management system. This project called for detailed
analysis, design and manufacturing of a system using phase-change energy storage
in conjunction with thermo-electrics (Peltier
elements). We successfully completed the technical and
financial management of this project in a period of 8
months, and within budget.
Other Aerospace contracts include
numerical simulation of fuel pump dynamics for rocket propulsion,
and of heat transfer in carbon-fiber composite structures. |
ACESystems provided the
mathematical modeling for a recent invention of an automatic
hypodermic insertion device. This required the modeling of
transient needle blood flow, in conjunction with the
thermodynamics of adiabatic gas compression. System response to
needle insertion was predicted for various design parameters. |
Engineering services were provided for
the construction of high-temperature fluidized-bed quartz reactors
to process high-purity silicon. Sophisticated bead-flow and heat
transfer models were derived to predict chemical yield. This
involved advanced theory of radiation, convection, and conduction
heat transfer, integrated with complex numerical modeling
techniques.
